Chicken Soup with Black Pepper Dumplings

It’s officially winter here in northern Utah with the snow falling & ski resorts opening so it’s time to cozy up with some warm soup after a day in the snow. My mom would make chicken & dumplings in the winter time when I was growing up in TX & it was one of my all time favorite soups! Fluffy dumplings with shredded chicken in a boiling both with black pepper cracked on top. So good! With inspiration from her recipe, this soup is a variation of hers for the coldest months of the year.
